The Fund for Protection of Lake Baikal participated in the discussion of environmental issues regarding the growth of Russian economy through modernisation and technology at the Ecology Congress held in the State Kremlin Palace.
Representatives of authorities, non-profit organisations and scientific society defined a number of immediate environmental problems and outlined their possible solutions at the Congress.
Participants agreed that it is important to implement environmentally friendly technologies and to introduce stricter punishments for ecological violations relating the world climate change and preservation of the environment.
