Igor Bychkov, Director of the Irkutsk Scientific Center of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Enters the FPLB Guardianship Board

Mr Igor Bychkov, Chairman of the Presidium of the Irkutsk Scientific Center of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, a Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, is now on the Guardianship Board of the Fund for Protection of Lake Baikal.

The Irkutsk Scientific Center of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences is a complex and multifunctional organization. The Irkutsk academic science is currently represented by nine major institutes which employ over 3.5 thousand people.

Mr Igor BYCHKOV is a Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Engineering and Professor. He is an expert in information technologies, the author and coauthor of 170 publications including eight multi-author books and 17 program registration certificates.

Igor was born on 8 May, 1961 in the City of Chita in a family of doctors. In 1983 he graduated from the Mathematics Department of Irkutsk State University. In 1981 he started his professional career as an intern researcher at the Computation Center of Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (currently the System Dynamics and Management Theory Institute) where he was eventually promoted to the Institute Director. In 1998 he was invited to the Presidium of the Irkutsk Scientific Center as the Academic Secretary and was subsequently elected Deputy Chairman of the Presidium of the Irkutsk Scientific Center.

In May 2010 Mr Bychkov was approved as Chairman of the Presidium of the Irkutsk Scientific Center of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
