On 24 April the IV All-Russian Environmental Film Festival “Meridian of Hope”, organized with the support of the Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resources and the Union of Cinematographers of St. Petersburg was closed in St. Petersburg in the cinema “Rodina”.

This year the festival is held for the fourth time. As Director of the Festival Natalia Ulozhenko told at the press conference, more than 50 films made by adults and children in different regions of Russia participated in the festival. The competition program included 32 films, including two documentaries about Baikal presented by the Fund for Protection of Lake Baikal.

At the closing ceremony the organizers thanked the participants of the festival, awarded diplomas and prizes to the films’ directors and promised that a video library of award-winning films with further distribution to libraries and universities of the Russian Federation will be created on the basis of “Meridian of Hope”.
