For several years, the traditional holiday month of the
White-New Year of the lunar calendar - "Sagaalgan", has been
celebrated in the Moscow International House of Music.
This year's celebrations were also devoted to the 350th anniversary
of Buryatia becoming part of Russia. This was the theme of the
opening remarks made by A.A. Lekhatinov, the Deputy Prime Minister
of the Republic of Buryatia and B.K. Bokov, the Deputy Head of
Interregional Cooperation on National Policy and Relations with
Religious Organizations in the City of Moscow.
The concert program included a number of pleasant surprises: the
Urakshaa Theater Studio’s "ethnic group" Namgar, performance of the
People's Artist of the USSR, G.S. Dagbaevoy, singers from the
musical theater, S.N. Danchenko, Elena and Genghis Ayusheevy, and
many others.
The organizers of the celebration were the Department of
Interregional Cooperation on National Policy and Relations with
Religious Organizations in the City of Moscow, the Plenipotentiary
Representative of the Republic of Buryatia of the Russian
President, the Religious NGO " Uryaal Society of Buryat Culture”
and the Fund for the Protection of Lake Baikal, whose stand was
located in the foyer of the House of Music.
At the stand of the Fund for Protection of Lake Baikal, people had
access to various publications on the results of the "Mir Subs on
Lake Baikal” International Research Expedition.
The event was attended by the Executive Director of the Fund, R.N.
Afonin, and Deputy Director I. Y. Krylova.
