On August 17 the Fund for Protection of Lake Baikal with support of the Ministry of Natural Resources of the Republic of Buryatia and the radio station “Autoradio” organized for the first time the environmental charitable marathon “Save Baikal by the whole world!”

The main objectives of the marathon - to attract the public to current problems of Lake Baikal, to bring together all the inhabitants of the Baikal region to save the unique lake and its natural area, to encourage the population to a careful attitude to the environment.
At the charity event in support of the world famous Lake a concert of popular singer Oleg Gazmanov will take place. Everyone who buys a ticket to the marathon will have an opportunity to participate in exciting contests and drawings.

Funds, collected by the Fund at the marathon, will be aimed at the creation of new landscaped recreational areas on the coast of Lake Baikal.
Every citizen of Russia can take part in the fate of the legendary lake. On August 9 Fund for Protection of Lake Baikal started raising money online to a specific environmental project in the Baikal region of the Republic of Buryatia.
