Today participants of expedition "Mirs" on the Baikal» go to the south of Baikal, to the region Posolskaya banka where the next immersings of "Mirs" will take place. Scientists are planning to work on studying of a geological structure of a bottom of the lake Baikal, inspection of deposits of hydrocarbons, definition of reserves of gas hydrate , and also studying of splashing  mud volcanoes.
