On 1 July Chairman of the FPLB Board of Trustee M. Slipenchuk took part in the traditional Day of the Department of Environmental Management, which is held at the scientific base of the Faculty of Geography of Lomonosov Moscow State University “Satino”. Professors Yu.Mazurov E.Golubeva, S.Kirillov, docents A.Pakina and D.Badyukov, senior researchers N.Sedova, E.Vorobievskaya and other staff and postgraduate students also participated in the event.

During the meeting with more than 100 freshmen geographers who undergo in Satino summer field practice, a detailed discussion on the history and development of the Department of Environmental Management, subjects that students learn, practice and expeditions conducted by the Department were held. Great interest among freshmen was sparked by the information about employment prospects of graduates and international internships, as well as a video demonstration on the work of the staff and students of the Department on the lake, including expeditions “Mirs at Lake Baikal” and “Trans-Eurasian flight: Leman – Baikal”.
